This past weekend I went to Paris with my friend Jolijn. We took her car and stayed outside the city right near a metro station. It was about a 15 minute ride to the center so it was really convenient (until we tried to ride the metro home on sat night and it stopped running because of a bomb threat which just meant 2 hours extra of wondering around and a 50 euro taxi ride home).
We got there late Friday night and during the day Sat and Sun we crammed in just about every cite worth seeing in Paris. I really liked the city a lot more than I expected. I thought the people would be meaner than they were...don't get me wrong, they weren't friendly by any means but maybe selfish is a better word. Anyways, it was really really nice weather which was much needed after weeks of cold and rainy weather here (it feels like it does in late October at home, but they all say its not usually like this here). I'll post some pictures so i'm not going to list all the cites we saw but if i had to pick a favorite cite it would be the Eiffel tower and the coolest thing we did was find this neighborhood called rue Mouffetard which was really close to the university of Paris so it was a big student area with really small streets with tons of little places to eat and cafes and bars. It was really cute.
